Meet “Amit Wagh”
An Indian Fine Artist who paints extraordinary landscapes. Amit Wagh is not just a painter; he is a seeker, a soul entwined with the elements. For over 17 years, Amit has ventured into the heart of the wild, where the boundaries between man and nature dissolve. His journey began with a simple yet profound desire to find the perfect spot by the Krushna river, under the canopy of ancient trees in Wai village, India; where he could lose himself in the rhythms of the natural world. It is in these serene, often remote settings that Amit connects with the land, immersing himself in its energy before capturing it on paper.
Amit’s medium of choice is watercolour, a deliberate and challenging selection that mirrors the fluidity of nature itself. His technique defies convention, pushing the boundaries of what watercolour can achieve. His works exude a luminous quality, a dance of light and shadow that breathes life into his landscapes. Amit’s first series, “Kantaar,” embodies this philosophy. “Kantaar” is not merely a collection of paintings but a spiritual exploration- a journey into the heart of the forest, where man and nature are one, where the external world fades, and all that remains is the essence of existence.
Amit quotes,
“My paintings are both a study of the physical and metaphysical. The earthly dimension and the unseen dimensions of light are a source for my creativity. I strive to depict the beauty and colour of our natural world infused with the multidimensional reality of light. With expanded awareness, a powerful silence is perceived underlying the creative energy of nature, and within that silence, an intrinsic vibration of light. Sometimes, when I am out in nature, I can ‘see’ the vibration of creation, and everything is just particles of light massing together to form objects. I witness the deconstruction of form into the formless and back into form again. I am inspired by nature; deconstructing deep forest, trees, and water into colour, lines, form, and space. Using watercolour paint, I attribute the evolution of my style to this medium. The essential quality of this paint opens the artist to other means of expression apart from realism.”
